Goal: Lose Weight. Can an App help?
Since last August, I have become a huge fan of exercise and personal fitness. In August, I began to work out at a gym and with a personal trainer three to four days a week. By doing so, I have made a commitment to fitness and by default, healthier eating habits as well. I am a fan of the Whole30 approach and I follow Joe the Juicer on Instagram and Facebook. It has become a lifestyle and I am convinced now more than ever that what we put into our bodies and how we exercise are the true pathways to the “fountain of youth”…..NOT plastic surgery.
I have heard about the surge of new exercise apps featuring famous trainers, gyms and fitness companies with easy to follow workouts from your phone. The apps target your abs – your butt – calorie counting – it seems there is an app for everything these days. Some of the apps promise flat abs with just 7 minutes a day. I would love a washboard stomach with just 7 minutes a day – wouldn’t we all?!
Would I make the commitment to make exercising happen for myself if I didn’t have someone waiting on me? Probably not, because it is pretty grueling to get up at 5 am without the knowledge that my trainer is expecting me. However, everyone is different. I am grateful I have the opportunity to have a personal trainer because that is what has worked for me. Ultimately it doesn’t matter if you ‘app’ for your exercise or go to a gym, all that really matters is that you are doing it and making it happen for yourself. Your “Fountain of Youth” is closer than you think….just takes hard work and consistent healthy choices.
